TP-Link Tapo C615F blends solar power and floodlight tech for smarter home security

Outdoor security just got brighter — literally.
TP-Link has launched the Tapo C615F, a solar-powered floodlight security camera designed to protect your home with smarts, motion tracking, and all-weather durability. The device is now available in the US for $89.99 and will soon roll out to Europe.

Smarter vision with 360° coverage

The Tapo C615F features a 2K 3MP camera that pans 360° horizontally and 130° vertically, ensuring you can monitor every angle of your yard or driveway. It comes equipped with AI-based motion detection capable of recognizing humans, pets, and vehicles, automatically following movement in real time.

For night-time coverage, the built-in 800-lumen floodlight provides crisp color visibility after dark. Both brightness and beam direction can be adjusted — up to 240° horizontally and 10° vertically — and it can activate automatically on motion or manually via the app.

Solar-powered convenience with backup battery

TP-Link’s adjustable solar panel keeps the camera running off sunlight, with just 45 minutes of direct sun enough to power a full 24 hours of operation. When the weather doesn’t cooperate, the system switches to its internal backup battery, rated for up to 140 days of standby.

This dual-source design means you can go completely wire-free, keeping installation simple and maintenance minimal — a smart step toward sustainable home security.

Features built for modern homes

The camera includes sound and light alarms to deter intruders, plus flexible storage options: users can record footage locally on a 512 GB microSD card or back it up to Tapo Care cloud storage.

Control is handled through the Tapo app, which offers remote access, live feeds, and automation settings. It also integrates smoothly with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, letting users control or check footage with voice commands.

Price and availability

The Tapo C615F is currently on sale for $89.99 on Amazon US (down from $99.99). A 2-pack bundle is also available on TP-Link’s official store for $180.98, a 10% discount from its regular price. The camera will retail for £149.99 in the UK once available.

The Tapo C615F reflects a growing trend toward eco-powered home security, where sustainability meets functionality. By merging solar charging, AI tracking, and floodlight illumination, TP-Link is positioning its Tapo line not just as a tool for protection — but as a modern, intelligent part of the smart-home experience.
