Redmi TV X 98 2026 Brings a 98-Inch 4K Mini LED Screen Built for Gamers and Movie Lovers
Redmi TV X 98 2026 packs a 98-inch 4K Mini LED screen with 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision Gaming for next-level entertainment.
If your living room has ever felt too small for your imagination, Xiaomi just found a way to fill it. The company has officially unveiled the Redmi TV X 98 (2026) — a gigantic 98-inch Mini LED television that aims to blur the line between home viewing and cinematic immersion.
Launched alongside the Redmi K90 smartphone series in China, this latest flagship TV continues Xiaomi’s push into premium home entertainment. It’s priced at CNY 7,599 (roughly USD 1,070), which, while nearly double the 85-inch model, still undercuts many global rivals with similar specs.
At its core, the Redmi TV X 98 (2026) features a Mini LED panel with 880 local dimming zones and 1,300 nits peak brightness. The 4K screen supports a native 144Hz refresh rate, and when switched to “competitive mode,” it can ramp up to a stunning 288Hz — a feature clearly aimed at gamers who crave smooth motion and instant response.
Color accuracy is another highlight. Xiaomi promises HDR10+, DCI-P3 94% color gamut, and ΔE≈2 factory calibration, ensuring every unit delivers consistent visuals out of the box. Its Full-Stack Color Engine and AI-powered local dimming dynamically manage contrast and brightness across zones, resulting in deeper blacks and more natural highlights.
To protect the eyes during long sessions, the Qingshan Eye Protection system combines hardware and software to cut blue light and auto-adjust color temperature depending on ambient lighting. It’s the kind of subtle upgrade that adds comfort to those marathon movie nights.
Inside, the TV runs on HyperOS 3 with a quad-core Cortex-A73 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of storage. Connectivity is future-ready, featuring Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual HDMI 2.1 ports with eARC, plus USB 3.0, Ethernet, and optical audio out — a full package for both modern gamers and traditional setups.
On the gaming front, Xiaomi didn’t stop at high refresh rates. The Redmi TV X 98 supports VRR, Dolby Vision Gaming, and FreeSync Premium, along with a 4ms response time, making it a legitimate contender for next-gen console play or PC gaming rigs.
Beyond entertainment, it doubles as a smart home hub. The latest Xiao Ai assistant now understands multiple Chinese dialects and maintains continuous conversation flow, while its redesigned interface connects effortlessly with Xiaomi’s ecosystem — from smart bulbs to air purifiers. When you’re not gaming or watching, the display can even transform into an art or sports dashboard, giving it purpose beyond TV time.
For now, the Redmi TV X 98 (2026) is exclusive to China, but if Xiaomi brings it overseas, it could disrupt the premium TV segment in the same way it did with smartphones — by making high-end experiences accessible to more people.
