Waking up to a phone that suddenly feels calmer is a small but welcome surprise. That’s the experience Moto G67 Power users are starting to get as Motorola rolls out the Android 16 update to its latest budget-friendly device.

The update marks the phone’s first major Android upgrade and comes with firmware version W1VN36H.60-30, weighing in at around 1.33GB. If it hasn’t popped up on your device yet, you can check manually by heading to Settings > System updates > Check for updates.

At first glance, Android 16 doesn’t dramatically change how the Moto G67 Power looks. The real shift is in how it behaves day to day. One of the most noticeable additions is Notification cooldown, a feature designed to reduce alert overload. When an app starts spamming notifications, the system automatically tones things down, making the phone feel less intrusive.

Another practical addition is Flash notification, which can trigger the camera light or screen flash for calls and alerts. It’s a small touch, but useful in loud environments or when your phone is on silent.

Android 16 also refreshes the Settings app with Custom modes, letting users create profiles for work, rest, or specific activities. Alongside that is Advanced protection, a bundled set of security tools aimed at shielding users from common threats and vulnerabilities. Motorola has also improved Bluetooth LE audio support, Wi-Fi reliability, and overall system stability.

These changes may sound subtle, but together they reflect a broader trend: even affordable phones are now expected to deliver smarter software experiences, not just decent hardware.

There’s a catch, though. The Moto G67 Power launched with an older version of Android despite Android 16 being available since June. While it’s good to see Motorola pushing the update quickly, the company has confirmed this will be the phone’s only major OS upgrade. Android 16 is the end of the line in terms of platform updates, although the device will continue to receive security patches for three years.

For buyers, that makes the G67 Power a solid short-term companion rather than a long-haul device. It’s a reminder that in the budget segment, software support can matter just as much as specs — especially as Android continues to evolve faster each year.
