Hisense laser projector promises visuals brighter than your local theater

Movie nights at home are about to get a lot more cinematic.
Hisense has unveiled the Vidda C5 Boundless Master, a premium tri-color laser projector built for serious home theater enthusiasts. Launching in China at 24,999 yuan (around $3,510), it’s designed for users who want professional-grade visuals and audio without leaving the living room.

Brightness that rivals the big screen

The projector runs on Hisense’s Alpha dual-engine MCL laser system, delivering 6800 CVIA lumens of brightness and 99.99% spectral purity. That means vivid colors, crisp whites, and high contrast even in larger rooms or daylight conditions. It supports HDR10, Dolby Vision, and DTS:X, ensuring top-tier cinematic standards from start to finish.

Inside, a JBL 2.1-channel sound system provides rich, room-filling audio with clear highs and punchy bass — a rare all-in-one solution that eliminates the need for external speakers.

Precision optics and pro-grade engineering

At the heart of the C5 sits a 17-element Hubble Red Label cinema lens with a 122mm diameter, built entirely from glass and coated with multilayer nano finishes. This setup delivers exceptional clarity, with a resolution exceeding 160 line pairs per millimeter.

It also supports a 7-stage variable aperture (F2.0–F5.0) and features Hisense’s latest third-generation SST architecture DMD chip, achieving a light power density of 60W/cm² — three times the previous generation. Combined with DeepBlack image processing, the projector reaches a native contrast ratio of 8000:1 and a staggering dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1.

A massive screen with total control

The Vidda C5 projects up to 300 inches with a 0.84–2.0:1 throw ratio and a 2.38x lossless optical zoom. Users can fine-tune positioning through ±130% vertical and ±46% horizontal lens shift.

For seamless setup, it uses a quad-camera spatial mapping system and 3D ToF sensors to handle autofocus, frame alignment, and keystone correction in real time — all automatically.

Hardware built for performance

Powered by the MediaTek MT9681S processor, the projector comes with 8GB of RAM and a generous 1TB of internal storage. It supports 1080p at 240Hz and 4K at 60Hz input, backed by a strong selection of ports: dual HDMI 2.1, USB 3.0, optical audio, RS232, Ethernet, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 7.

You can even use it as a smart speaker with voice control, linking it to smart home ecosystems through Hisense’s platform.

Built to stay cool and look good

To manage heat from the laser engine, Hisense employs an advanced liquid cooling system with aviation-grade PTFE materials, a 122mm² cold plate, turbo pump, and 11-channel radiator. The chassis itself is an all-metal unibody, finished in a sleek Royal Coffee tone that feels as premium as its specs suggest.

The Vidda C5 Boundless Master signals Hisense’s growing ambition in the high-end projection market — merging cinema-grade optics, laser precision, and smart home integration. For anyone building a next-level home theater, this might just outshine the local cinema — literally.
